FAQ’s

Does my child need to log in to Ethos at a certain time?
Ethos provides an asynchronous, synchronous model. Students complete daily work asynchronously where they have access to assignments on the platform and are not required to log in at a specific time each day. To ensure engagement and connectivity with their teacher and classmates, students are expected to attend synchronous sessions each week via zoom. The sync session day and time are determined at the beginning of the semester by the teacher and students based on the availability of the majority.
What if my student cannot attend a synchronous session?
Engagement is a core pillar of Ethos and we have historically used our sync sessions to establish and maintain student engagement. We also understand that course rosters can include a variety of timezones as well as co curricular and family activities. If a student is unable to attend a scheduled session, the student should communicate the conflict with their teacher. The teacher can provide an alternate assignment that is comparable to the discussions and activities for the missed sync session.
Do I need textbooks?
Some courses will require textbooks and/or lab materials, in addition to the digital resources on the course page. Textbook details are provided by the teacher as well as in the syllabus for each course, but you can find the Ethos textbooks/materials list here. For any inquiries regarding textbook access or textbook related issues, please contact Dr. Brad Denton at bdenton@ethosschool.org.
How do I find my child’s Ethos grade?
Parents have an individual login, giving you access to monitor your student’s progress and grades. The parent portal (also called Genius) link is https://sis.ethosschool.org. You can click the forgot password link at any time to retrieve your password (NOTE: please do not setup a new account). When you click the forgot password link, you will receive an email with your username. Once logged in, you can review the current course grade, the amount of time your student has spent in each course, and the contact information for your child’s teachers.
Who do I contact with questions?
We have a team of Ethos administrators and staff who are ready to assist you and address any questions you might have. If you attend a K12 school or have general Ethos questions please contact our Academic Dean, Dr. Crystal Downs (cdowns@ethosschool.org). If you are a member of the homeschool community or have a child in grades 4th-5th, please contact our Associate Academic Dean, Mrs. Catrina White (cwhite@ethosschool.org). If you have any questions regarding textbooks please contact our Textbook Coordinator Dr. Brad Denton (bdenton@ethosschool.org). If you or your child have trouble with login or course access contact our Tech Support team (support@ethosschool.org).
