Spanish Novice 1 is an introductory course designed for students with little or no prior experience in Spanish. Students learn foundational vocabulary, basic grammatical structures, and cultural elements from a variety of Spanish-speaking countries. Instruction is centered on storytelling and the Comprehensible Input approach, allowing students to acquire language through meaningful, understandable messages rather than memorization alone. Students successfully completing this course can expect to move from Beginner to Novice-Low on the ACTFL proficiency scale.
