This economics survey course introduces students to the study of macroeconomic and microeconomic theory and how governments and societies attempt to efficiently allocate resources. Students will examine how these theories impact local economies, influence business attitudes, and impact societies and culture as a result of innovation, new technologies, and trade policies. Students will learn to graph supply and demand curves, discuss and analyze relevant economic news events, and track international markets. The course’s main focus analyzes how the American free enterprise system works within the context of modern-day globalization. Students have the opportunity to earn dual credit for this class by completing additional requirements as determined by the course instructor and in accordance with criteria from Colorado Christian University.
