Discovery Learning

Our unique curriculum is based on the Discovery Learning model which is student-centered and teacher-guided. This instructional approach engages students in investigating real world questions while providing opportunities for social collaboration.  Our dynamic approach includes project-based learning with online and text-based materials, interactive audio and visual presentations, and hands-on experimentation. Field trips and involvement in community activities further lend support to thematic learning and encourage the development of individual interests. Enrichment classes such as art, music, cooking, and physical education help to unlock individual creativity and cultivate communication skills.

Our physical location enables us to draw our natural surroundings prominently into the learning experience. The natural environment of central Arizona serves as a powerful backdrop for outdoor education where learning can extend beyond the classroom walls. Students also develop environmental awareness and appreciation, understanding their role in and impact on the world around them.

Finally, an emphasis on core virtues and ethics are infused throughout our educational experience in an effort to help students play effective roles in their families and communities. We consider it a critically important part of our educational mission to promote and cultivate virtuous behaviors that enable and strengthen meaningful personal relationships.
